What are the differences in FMT Courses?

FMT Basic addresses functional kinesiology taping theories and applications for pain, posture, edema, scars and neurological symptoms.

FMT Advanced builds on FMT BASIC concepts, with an emphasis on functional kinesiology taping for myofascial pathways to improve movement and enhance performance.

FMT Geriatrics introduces the concept of movement therapy and enhancement via functional kinesiology taping methods for geriatric population,

FMT Pediatrics introduces the concept of movement therapy and enhancement via functional kinesiology taping methods with the pediatric population.

FMT Blades will review screening dysfunctional movement patterns and utilizing Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue tools to improve patient treatment. The anatomy, physiology and MOST IMPORTANTLY the neurology of myofascial soft tissue work is covered, along with supporting research.

FMT Blades Advanced introduces the concept of skin/fascial/nerve gliding and neuro-sensory pain modulation via Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Movement utilizing a rubber sleeve for added tissue traction, as well as, using a hair comb attachment for pain modulation via specific mechano-reception stimulation.

FMT RockPods introduces the concept of skin/fascial decompression to help improve tissue mobility, improve movement and modulate pain with the use of myofascial cups.

FMT RockFloss introduces the concept of skin/fascial/nerve gliding to help reduce tissue swelling, improve movement and modulate pain with the use of ‘compression band floss’.

FMT Movement Specialist will provide attendees an integrated strategy for movement assessment, correction and programming. This course addresses multiple considerations that affect our ability to move including the psychological, neurological, motor, connective tissue systems, environment and personalities of our patients and clients.

FMT Mobility Specialist is an evidence-informed self-myofascial rolling course that advances students’ understanding of mobility techniques for their patient’s and client’s needs.  FMT Mobility Specialist offers a practical framework and a systematic approach for determining why, how, when and where to roll for movement preparation, movement recovery or pain relief.

FMT Tactical Athlete Medic Certification (TAMC) introduces the concept of movement therapy and performance enhancement to create simple and effective non-opioid, Musculo-skeletal treatment and self care programs for the tactical athlete.

FMT Advanced – FMT BASIC is a prerequisite for FMT ADVANCED.

I have taken other Kinesiology taping courses, can I skip FMT Basic and take FMT Advanced?

No. Our FMT Basic Kinesiology Taping Certification lays the foundation for understanding FMT’s approach to kinesiology taping and outlines many of the differences in taping applications vs other courses. There will be new things to learn and other taping applications to ‘unlearn’ before moving onto FMT Advanced. For this reason, we require you to take the FMT Basic course before moving onto the FMT Advanced course.

How long do my FMT certifications last?

As long as you do.

How many continuing education credits are available for each course?

Depending on class size, state regulations and focus, CEUs may be offered at FMT Certifications. Please see the details for specific classes which can be found in the RockTape store.

How do I get listed as an FMT certified online provider?

Once you attend an FMT Certification Course, you will receive an email with a link to the form you need to complete to be listed on our site. Please remember that you must have made a purchase of products before being listed. Your name will then appear in our “Find an FMT Certified Provider” search.

Can I use your FMT Certification Names, Logos and show off my certification?

Yes, you can, and you should!

Do I need someone to practice techniques on during the class?

If you would like to, you can; but it is not necessary to take the class. You can practice on yourself as well.

What do I need to watch an FMT Plus on demand course?

You’ll need a stable, high-speed internet connection, and speakers.

Can the student watch it again?

Yes

Is there a test to take?

Yes. A 30 Question multiple choice quiz will be required after completing the course to receive your CEU certificate. A 70% test score is required to pass and receive CEUs. The quiz can be open book and unlimited attempts on the quiz are allowed.
